Holding a Bachelor's Degree in Film Studies and having a lifelong passion for film, Richard founded Richard Jackson Video in 2016 following years of creating content part time and for his previous employers.

Combining his practical knowldge of lighting, sound and cameras with the theory learned on his degree he was able to grow his portfolio quickly and create a network of suppliers and clients that continues to expand. As an entity Richard Jackson Video works mostly covering events, exhibitions, promotions and creating web-content and internal video for suppliers.

His work as cinematographer includes the feature length biographical documentary ICON: The Robert Englund Story and the upcoming narrative horror short Type Till You Bleed both releasing in 2021.

Most days he can be found hunched in front of his computer working on projects and wishing he was Roger Deakins.
